Berlin, watch out. We finally made it. The one and only blue eyed soul – maestro from the Westcoast NED DOHENY is coming to play an intimate acoustic gig here on 29.3. at Roter Salon/Volksbühne. It is Neds first appearance in Berlin, actually it is his first ever tour of Europe and UK. Made possible by enthusiasm only, by people that love his music (a.o. the lovely guys from Be With Records and Numero Group, who recently rereleased his music on vinyl). The Berlin show is organized by Daniel Best/Best Works, Marc Weiser/Roter Salon & Too Slow To Disco/How Do You Are?. It is a big risk, but we all love Ned Doheny’s music so much, we just have to do it (Like LCD SOUNDSYSTEM once said: “Well daft punk is playing at my house, my house. You got to set them up kid, set them up”. You get the point…). He will be joined by Mr DJ Supermarkt and some more DJs on the decks. The Poster was designed by graphic-legend PETE FOWLER (famous for his artworks for SUPER FURRY ANIMALS a.m.m.) Tickets are available directly at the Volksbühne, link at the bottom.
watch and listen to him playing acoustic versions of “On and On”, “A Bluemoon Rising” and “Whatcha Gonna Do for Me” in Japan/1991:
